2020 Legislative session resumes
State lawmakers gaveled in yesterday after a 2-month suspension due to coronavirus. They are working to find a solution to jump start the economy while avoiding salary cuts or furloughing government workers. HPR’s Ryan Finnerty tells us about the latest happenings.

Even though there has been less traffic on our roadways, there are reports of more speeders and jaywalkers particularly here on Oahu. The rules of the road are meant to keep people safe whether you are walking or driving a car. And as many businesses are set to open on Friday the public is being reminded to be careful and stay safe.

Samoan history teaches important pandemic lesson
Here on HPR’s The Conversation last month we were first to report that American Samoa was the only US territory to remain free of Covid 19 cases. FEMA region 9 administrator Robert Fenton had been talking about the lessons learned from the pandemic of 1918, what was then called the Spanish flu. We learned of the history of two Samoas thanks to the RETRO REPORT, a non profit that produces documentaries.
