Johnson Choi, a Honolulu businessman and president of the Hong Kong-Hawai Chamber of Commerce, tells about weathering the economic turmoil in Hong Kong. A few months ago it was political protests. While those have quieted down, fears of the coronavirus have dealt another blow to the economy. Choi tells us about effects in Hong Kong and in Hawaii.
Elemental Excelerator wants startups solving climate change
Elemental Excelerator, the nonprofit startup accelerator, is looking for its next set of companies to help combat climate changes. Over the past decade, the nonprofit has funded $36 million to 99 startups. Dawn Lippert, CEO of the Elemental Excelerator, tells us more about the companies they're looking for. The Society of Professional Journalists, Hawaii chapter, launched a drive to attract new members.
