The Conversation: Sitdown with US Senator Mazie Hirono

Flickr

Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono sits down with us this morning to talk about issues that affect you. If you know anything about Hirono, you may know that immigration is a subject that is near and dear to her heart. Whether it’s a battle over our courts and the laws of the land, or over healthcare issues Senator Mazie Hirono has taken her place in our nation’s Capital to be a voice for those who call Hawaii home.

Joining us this morning live in our studios:

  • Senator Mazie Hirono: She is the first Asian-American woman elected to the Senate, and the first U.S. senator born in Japan. For almost 40 years she has served Hawaii’s voters, first in the State House of Representatives, later as Lt. Governor and as a member of the US House of Representatives.
