Earlier this month, a documentary film entitled Rise of the Wahine: Champions of Title Nine was released with the idea it might reach a new audience and help educators share the story.
We sat down with Dean Kaneshiro to talk about his passion document the fight for equity in athletics and the legacy of remarkable women here in Hawaii--Congresswoman Patsy Mink and school superintendent Donnis Thompson who fought those early battles. Kaneshiro talks about a recent event at the Hawaii Theater to celebrate the recut of the film and its release online.
