Ebola; Nordic Walk Kaua’i; January Food Justice Summit
This week came news that Guinea is ebola-free. The outbreak of the disease in West Africa that spanned the last two years may be over for now, but what about the next time? And what about other diseases that can jump from animals to humans? Both of those questions concern Kevin Olival. He’s the Associate Vice President for Research for the New York-based nonprofit, EcoHealth Alliance.

January Food Justice Summit: Gary Hooser
Tonight may find you enjoying a quiet New Year’s dinner or maybe a blowout party. Food and drink will be in the mix but probably not a lot of thought about what’s in the food or where it was grown. That’s very much on the mind of president of the Hawai'i Alliance for Progressive Action, Gary Hooser, and will be the subjects of a four island speaking tour culminating in a two day gathering at the Capitol before and during opening day. Gary Hooser is joined the show with a preview.
