TMT, Na`i Apuni, and DOI Proposal: Williamson Chang
There has been a lot of tumult in the Native Hawaii Community. For a lot of this year, we’ve heard the arguments for and against the 30 Meter Telescope project, the Na’i Aupuni election process, and the US Department of Interior proposal to create a government to government relationship should there be a Native Hawaiian government. The divisive challenges have been caustic at times and with the decisions already received and more action to come, what does all of it together mean for native Hawaiians in the near future? UH law professor Williamson Chang has been giving that ongoing thought and he joined The Conversation in our studios for a discussion.

Homeless Youth 'Home for the Holiday' on Christmas Eve: Nani Medeiros
During the holidays, many feel the inclination to be active and helpful and then, afterward, they think they have done their part and move on. In this Christmas week, one organization will have to confront that as it hopes to give homeless children a holiday with a safe and memorable night. HomeAid Hawai‘i wants a group of homeless Oahu kids to enjoy the comforts of home, giving them a place to sleep this Christmas Eve at Aloha Tower Marketplace. But then what? HomeAid Executive Director, Nani Medeiros joined the show to answer that.

The Nutcracker: Virginia Holte
Imagine the excitement backstage tonight at Kahilu Theater, as more than 50 young dancers prepare to take the stage for the West Hawaii Dance Theatre performance of The Nutcracker. It’s an experience none of them are likely to forget. The dancers will be performing choreography inspired by the original Ballets Russe de Monte Carlo production, which is the choreography that made this ballet an essential holiday show. Artistic Director Virginia Holte put it all together, and she’s joined the show via phone to tell us more about the show. The Nutcracker will be performed tonight and tomorrow at Kahilu Theater in Waimea on Hawaii Island.
