Government Service Providers for the Homeless: Scott Morishige
Over the past year, the changing tableau of tent villages and the growing homeless population living in them have stymied service providers. The old strategy has grown more ineffective, in part because of the lack of shared data and coordinated efforts. Yesterday, government service providers met to look at how to better integrate what they know and what they do. Scott Morishige of the health and human services advocacy group, PHOCUSED, was there and he joined the show to go over what was discussed.

Magical Music of Disney: Randy Leonard
There probably aren’t too many corners of the world that Walt Disney Studios have not penetrated, either with music, images, or both. Disney music has a special hold on us and the studio continues to generate songs with a kind of universal appeal. Kauai Voices, a forty voice choir, is exploring the full range of Disney music tonight and tomorrow in Lihue. The show is called the Magical Music of Disney and Randy Leonard, choir director, joined the show via phone to talk about it.

Baldwin Theatre Guild: Luana Whitford-Mitchell
Not all the people who get involved in theater in their high schools years stay with it as a career, but they’re likely to benefit from it throughout their lives. Drama students acquire self-confidence as they learn teamwork and build a camaraderie that stays with them forever. That’s the esprit de corps of the Baldwin Theatre Guild, whose fifty-year Reunion is coming up later this month. Luana Whitford-Mitchell is a 1986 alumna and an organizer of the gathering who’s working to bring her cohorts together.
