You can’t beat the story of Oliver Twist for suffering and redemption. Charles Dickens was unsurpassed at putting his characters through hell and rejoicing with us when virtue eventually triumphs. It’s a perfect story for a musical, and for a cast of mostly kids, which is why Lionel Bart’s Oliver! is the Maui Academy of Performing Arts’ Summer Musical Theatre Camp production this year. Sally Sefton is the production’s director.
