Concert: Jonathan Korth and Zuill Bailey
Cello and piano can be an ideal mix, as many great composers have learned. Their sonorities overlap, but never seem to bump into one another, with the piano providing a harmonic and rhythmic bed that surrounds the warmth of the cello. One of the world’s most celebrated cellists, Zuill Bailey , will perform in that combination tomorrow evening with pianist Jonathan Korth, and the program they have chosen is an ideal showcase for both instruments. Jonathan joined us this morning in studio for a pre-show discussion.

TAG’s “Defiance”: Peggy Anne Siegmund
It’s no secret that the military is a system of rigid rules and regulations, with strict codes of behavior for those who choose that life. But what happens to the individual when those codes come into conflict with what he knows is right? It’s not always easy to do the right thing when the cost is high, and that’s the conflict at the center of “Defiance,” a new production of the Actors’ Group. Peggy Anne Sigmund is the director, and she joined us this morning to examine the intricacies of the play.
