By now you know that one of the huge turnarounds of the election was the Maui GMO initiative. Over the course of the evening the question moved from 58% voting no to a late night win by the yes camp with slightly over 50% in favor. As the joy over the win turns to implementation, supporters also know they will likely face a legal challenge, and the reality of how to enforce the moratorium. Ashley Lukens is the Program Director of Hawaii Center for Food Safety and joined the show to share her thoughts.

Playwrights have a different relationship to their work than other writers, because their work can’t come into being without collaboration – and collaboration can mean compromise.  It can also lead to a series of pleasant surprises, as characters and situations come to life in ways no one could have anticipated.  Susan Soon He Stanton is the author of a new play, a noir mystery set in Hawaii called the underneath, which is having its world premiere tonight at Kumu Kahua.  She’s joined the show to tell us how her words on a page have been brought to life.

For decades, you've heard this: will Hawaii ever have a robust two party system? The GOP itself has asked that question and made attempts to remedy the lopsided control of Hawaii's Democratic Party. As you know, Republicans have struggled despite the election and two term service of Republican governor Linda LIngle that ended in 2010. In the wake of Tuesday's election, the GOP is again looking at its future. Party Chair and former congresswoman, Pat Saiki, joined the show to talk about how the Hawai‘i GOP will move forward.
