Passing of Maui GMO Initiative: Ashley Lukens
By now you know that one of the huge turnarounds of the election was the Maui GMO initiative. Over the course of the evening the question moved from 58% voting no to a late night win by the yes camp with slightly over 50% in favor. As the joy over the win turns to implementation, supporters also know they will likely face a legal challenge, and the reality of how to enforce the moratorium. Ashley Lukens is the Program Director of Hawaii Center for Food Safety and joined the show to share her thoughts.
