Drugs and Alcohol/Pregnancy Research: Dr. Ira Chasnoff
Ira J. Chasnoff, M.D. is the President of NTI Upstream and is one of the nation's leading researchers in child development and the effects of maternal alcohol and drug use on newborns and children. He and his team have been working in Hawaii for the past ten years to develop systems of care for pregnant and parenting women and their children at risk from alcohol, tobacco and illicit drug use. Dr. Chasnoff presented the world premiere of his new film, Moment to Moment: Teens Growing up with FASD in Honolulu this past Thursday night, the Hilo screening happens Monday night (11/3).
