How do we keep our cultural heritage alive? For centuries, we have created archives of our shared past through two-dimensional images: painting and photographs of two-dimensional structures that have long since crumbled. But what if we had accurate three-dimensional archives to draw upon, and we could reconstruct the Colosseum or the Parthenon to their exact original dimensions? We now have the technology to do just that, and Mid-Pacific president Paul Turnbull has brought it to his new mission as head of the school. He joined us this morning with a little instruction for the rest of us.

Libertarian Gubernatorial Candidate: Jeff Davis
As he often likes to remind everyone, there are four candidates for governor. And libertarian gubernatorial candidate Jeff Davis has picked up a few percentage points in the most recent Civil Beat poll. While they aren't enough to make him a threat in what has become a two person race, they have certainly made him happy, and may be an indicator of how his message may be growing with some voters.

Fiddler on the Roof: Director Joyce Maltby
Fiddler on the Roof has become a musical theater classic in spite of what might seem to be unlikely subject matter: Czarist Russia at the turn of the Twentieth Century and a family’s struggle with anti-Semitism. Unlikely, perhaps, but that’s the beauty of it, because the show has proven again and again that a universal human message can always find an audience. Director Joyce Maltby is bringing the much-loved show to the Hawaii Pacific University stage.
