UHERO Report: Professor Fuleky
Maybe you don't need this next segment. If you work, if you have a business and if financial matters matter to you, you're probably aware that Hawaii's economy is flat. The details supporting that idea are out today in the latest state economic update. Today we welcome Peter Fuleky of the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization, who co-authored the report.

Kalihi’s T-Shirt Theatre is all about self-reliance… it’s theatre from the grass roots up, and its teenage members have had to learn many lessons about taking care of themselves – on stage and off. That spirit can be felt throughout its self-created productions over the past several years, and now the drama group is moving into new territory with an upcoming documentary theater performance called With Their Voices Raised at the Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor. George Kon is its guiding spirit, and he joined us in the studio.

The Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra is now in its eleventh season, and this strong, all volunteer regional orchestra is getting under way with a concert called “A Tribute to Hawaii…” The featured composition, Paul Csige’s “VOYAGES,” is a symphonic work inspired by the story of the original Polynesian migration to these islands. It’s part of an ambitious season ahead, and Dr. Madeline Schatz, Artistic Director of the Kamuela Philharmonic, told us a little about it.
