Hawaii And Japan Relations: Irene Hirano Inouye
Not long after Japan’s triple disaster in March 2011, the U.S. - Japan Council in coordination with the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo launched The Tomodachi Initiative. Its purpose is to help young people engage in the business of going forward. This year’s conference happened over the weekend. Irene Hirano Inouye is President of the U.S.-Japan Council and administrates the Initiative.

Status Update on Celebration 2014: Michael Titterton
HPR’s fall fund drive is currently in hiatus after raising a little over $799,000 of the $1.03 million goal. This was the first time in 15 years that HPR did not meet its pledge drive goal during the allotted time frame. HPR President and General Manager, Michael Titterton joined us in the studio to discuss the next steps HPR is going to take to make up the difference.
