Business Perspective, Constitutional Ballot Question #4: Keith Vierra
The Yes on 4 question - that’s whether you think the state should be allowed to contract with private preschool nonprofits - got some help this week. New ads rolled out two days ago and some weighty business organizations have come out in favor of the constitutional question. Keith Vierra is part of that sector. The career hospitality executive says that if approved, the constitutional amendment will help teachers to be more successful because K-3 students will come to school better prepared to learn. Keith joined us in studio to elaborate.

Chicken-Skin Stories at Spalding House: Lopaka Kapanui
Every neighborhood has its secrets – and where there are secrets, there are ghosts. In Makiki Heights, home to the Honolulu Museum of Art’s Spalding House, some of those ghosts came to the area lurking in the works of art that hang in the museum’s collection. Those spirits will populate the stories Lopaka Kapanui will tell in A Night of Chicken Skin at the Museum, when he’ll hold a ghost story session on the lawn just as the sun is going down. It’s enough to make you shiver, and he joined the show with a preview. A Night of Chicken Skin takes place at the Museum on Oct. 15, 5-8 p.m. at the Honolulu Museum of Art’s Spalding House.
