Wednesday, October 1st – from HPR2, it’s The Conversation
With a little more than a month to go before the campaign season turns to history, you might be tempted to compare this election run-up to what happened in other years. St. Anthony School Robotics Camp: Roger Collier
If you tell a group of pre-teens you’re going to teach them the finer points of math and physics, their eyes might just glaze over at the thought of a boring recitation of facts and figures -- but tell them they’re going to build a robot, and the reaction is something quite different. Robotics programs have caught the imagination of students all over Hawaii and many of them have distinguished themselves in national competitions. If Roger Collier has his way, there will be more. He’s the STEM coordinator for St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School in Wailuku, Maui. The school is offering a Robotics Camp for Boys & Girls 10-14 that runs from Monday to Friday next week, and Roger’s joined the show via phone to tell us more.
