If you or your company had the chance to compete for funding to offset the cost of an energy-saving project, you might consider it, wouldn't you? DJ and New Record Label: Roger Bong
Blogger, DJ and record collector Roger Bong searches for rare and relatively unknown Hawaiian soul, funk and rare groove music from the 1970s and 1980s. He shares his findings on his blog, AlohaGotSoul.com, often interviewing artists and retelling their stories through blog posts and mixtapes. His dedication to digging up obscurities from Hawaii's contemporary musical past has caught the attention of DJs and record collectors around the world: from London, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Paris and even Rio De Janeiro. Now, having secured a monthly DJ gig in Honolulu called Soul Time In Hawaii—where he spins a mix of modern day music with old school Hawaiian R&B tracks—Roger plans to turn his blog, Aloha Got Soul, into a record label reissuing music on vinyl and digital for new listeners to discover music from Hawaii's past.

Sand Island Homeless Village: Ember Shinn
Maybe it's a case of everything old is new again, or just an idea whose time has come. 8 years ago former governor Linda Lingle had Sand Island in her scopes, and now the City of Honolulu is again proposing using the area for a homeless encampment. Not all like the idea, but in the absence of a viable alternative is it time to put up the tents? Ember Shinn is the city's managing director and she joined the show by phone.
