15th Human Rights Summer Seminar: Joshua Cooper
Many conversations these days include two words: human rights. For 15 years, those words have been the basis for a summer seminar at the Hawaii Institute for Human Rights. The seminar finished on Friday. Joshua Cooper is a UH lecturer and the director of training at the International Training Center for Teaching Peace and Human Rights in Geneva. He joined the show this morning with a wrap up of this year's seminar.

Foster Garden's Summer Concert, The Teddy Bear Picnic: Colin More
Foster Gardens is a place of refuge – a tree-shaded sanctuary in the middle of a busy city. It’s also a place where magic can happen, especially for children on a summer night. Colin More, AKA Uncle Coco, has the task of bringing that magic to the very young at Foster Gardens this Thursday, when its pau hana summer concert series comes to a close with The Teddy Bear Picnic. It’s a free event, and Colin joined the show to tell us about it.

Women’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship Seminar: Liz A. Dorn
Get a bunch of women in a room and if they speak the same language, they are likely to talk with each other. When the language is leadership and the women come to Hawaii expressly to trade best practices, ideas and strategies, there's a lot to discuss - especially when the women come from countries in the Asia Pacific Region. After two weeks of meetings and exchanges, the Changing Faces Women's Leadership Seminar wrapped up last week. Liz Dorn of the East West Center is the coordinator and she gave us an overview of some of the key points that might be helpful to you.

Hawaii Sand Castle/Art/Sculpture Contest and Festival: Julian Miller
Sand sculpture is a specialized art that takes a lot of skill – and with it, an ability to accept that art can be fleeting. It’s amazing what a dedicated team of sand sculptors can do, even knowing their art will soon be washed away. The best Hawaii has to offer will be on display in Hanalei next Saturday for the Hawaii Sand Castle/Art/Sculpture Contest and Festival. Julian Miller is the coordinator, and he joined us this morning. The Hawaii Sand Castle/Art/Sculpture Contest and Festival tales place this Saturday at the Hanalei Bay pier on Kaua’i.
