North Shore Community Land Trust: Doug Cole
Oahu’s North Shore draws people to it from all over the world, and this widespread appeal can be both a blessing and a curse… It’s the mission of the North Shore Community Land Trust to remind us that we live near one of the world's last remaining wild coastlines near a major metropolitan area -- and it’s incumbent on us to protect it. Doug Cole is the organization’s executive director, and he joined us this morning by phone.

Vocal Arts Festival: Tim Carney
The 11th Annual Hawaii Vocal Masterworks Festival is taking place featuring Ola Gjeilo’s Transcendent Sunrise Mass. Tim Carney stopped by the studio to tell us more. He’s a master of many works in his own right and founding musical director of the Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble created back in 1992. He’s also an Associate Professor of Music at Chaminade University.

Burial Council Concerns About 801 South Street: Jonathan Likeke Scheuer
Kaka'ako, once a neglected urban neighborhood filled with one-and two story structures housing body shops, auto repair shops, and a variety of small businesses, has become the focus of an unprecedented development surge. In the seeming rush to build, has the state skipped past its obligations to the public, and to history? The O’ahu Burial Council is looking at 801 South Street, the redevelopment site of the old Honolulu Advertiser Building, with those very concerns, and the Council’s Jonathan Likeke Scheuer joined us this morning.

Wyland Gallery at Koolina: Bruce Krakauer
