Classical Pacific, November 13, 2018: Wings, Fins and Paws

Today - wings, fins and paws - music inspired by animals of air, water and land. I'll be playing selections from music by Haydn, Vaughan Williams, Copland, Beethoven, Joplin, Telemann, Schubert, Handel, Ravel Vivaldi and Respighi. Also, Takuma Itoh and Laura Margulies will be in the studio discussing their project, Symphony of the Hawaiian Birds, which will be performed by the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra tomorrow (Wednesday, November 13th) at the Blaisdell at 7 pm, in a family friendly concert.

Louise Keali‘iloma King Lanzilotti comes from a multi-ethnic background that has informed many of her beliefs. Her experience covers artistic, educational and administrative areas of the arts. Lanzilotti taught for over twenty years in public, private and alternative schools K – 12, developing a method of writing music and plays with students, which solidified her understanding of the importance of arts engagement for all.
