Like the Queen, RuPaul says in every episode of Drag Race: "If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gon' love somebody else? Can I get an 'Amen?'"

Ahead of Friday the 14th this week, I've decided to do a show full of self-love and empowerment based on artists like Lizzo (pictured), Nina Simone, and Emily King whose lyrics remind us not to lose ourselves in someone else, and that we set the bar on the kind of love we deserve by how well we love ourselves first - which for a lot of us (me) is easier said than done. These songs are meant to help us learn that lesson while keeping our heads held high. AMEN (and a-lady)!.
