Should Taxpayers Pay Honolulu City Prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro’s Legal Bills?

The Honolulu City Council is poised to take a vote on whether to approve footing the legal bill for the impeachment petition for City Prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro.

Alex Silvert a Deputy Federal Public Defender submitted a letter to the Star Advertiser outlining what he thinks they should be considering. We talked to him about the way forward

He hopes the council will reach out to other attorneys knowledgeable about constitutional law other than just relying on the Corporation Counsel’s lawyers who may have a narrow view on this issue.
