Office of Hawaiian Affairs CEO Kamana?opono Crabbe is stepping down at the end of the month. The Office of Hawaiian Affairs Board of Trustees decided Thursday not to renew Crabbe’s contract, which expires on June 30.

Crabbe has been chief executive officer of the state agency since 2012.

At the board's Thursday meeting, trustees went into executive session, emerged and then announced Crabbe would not be kept on, providing no explanation.

Chairwoman Colette Machado says the board will discuss finding an interim CEO at its June 20 meeting.
