HONOLULU — Ex-Honolulu prosecutor, Katherine Kealoha, hasn't decided whether she will testify in her defense at a trial over allegations she and her police chief husband framed her uncle to keep him from revealing fraud that funded their lavish lifestyle.

Kealoha's attorney Earle Partington says she wants to wait until all witnesses have testified before deciding. She stood in court Tuesday as a judge explained her right to take the stand or not testify.

Kealoha and her now-retired husband Louis Kealoha are accused of abusing police resources and conspiring with officers to frame Gerard Puana for stealing the couple's home mailbox.

Prosecutors say they wanted to discredit Puana in a lawsuit he and his mother filed saying Katherine Kealoha stole money from them in a reverse mortgage scheme.

The trial continues Wednesday.
