The new academic year for most Hawai'i schools is set to begin in August. Even with new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance on masks and the push to get our community vaccinated, the comfort level of parents, staff, and students varies.

The Conversation was joined by the outgoing Department of Education School Superintendent Christina Kishimoto to explore the most prominent issues regarding school safety during this next phase of the pandemic.

Kishimoto discussed potential ideas of working through the pandemic and the transition from online to in-person learning.
