A little over 200 years ago, the missionaries first set foot on Hawai‘i's shores.

The Conversation was joined by playwright and missionary descendant Marion Lyman Mersereau, cast member and missionary descendant Brailey Hirose-Hulbert, and PlayBuilders of Hawai‘i Theater Company Founder and Executive Director Terri Madden to explore the themes of a theater production-turned-film "Open Your Hearts Wide" about missionaries in Hawai‘i. This PlayBuilders project was produced in partnership with the PA'I Foundation and Hawaiian Mission Houses.

They discussed the process of creating a theater production and film about missionaries in Hawai‘i and what it was like growing up as a missionary descendant in Hawai‘i. | Link
