Martin Barre joined Jethro Tull after their first album, in late 1968, and played on every Jethro Tull album and tour through the band’s breakup at the end of 2011.
In our feature, we connect with Martin at his home in the south of the UK. He shared the details of how a solo tour of South America was impacted by the pandemic closures last year, as he and his band performed the last concerts to take place in a few of the countries they visited, with other dates blown out due to the virus. Martin also explained his recent 50 Years of Jethro Tull collection of new recordings of classic Tull songs. Among projects he’s engaged in outside of Jethro Tull, the time he got to work with Beatle Paul McCartney ranks among his all-time favorite experiences, and he told us the exciting story!
