Users of the state’s official COVID-19 notification service can now report at-home test results. The update to the AlohaSafe Alert app was announced last Friday.
The app uses Bluetooth technology and notifies users if they may have been exposed to COVID-19.
There have been over 1.6 million activations of the app since its launch in January 2021.
AlohaSafe Alert’s most recent update allows users to self-report a positive at-home test result.
The state Department of Health had no method to track at-home test results prior to the update.
Android users will not be required to update the app to access these features. However, iPhone users will need to turn on “Exposure Notifications” in settings to access the new features.
