The Kona Vehicle Registration and Licensing Office will be open on select Saturdays starting this week.
Hawaiʻi County will open the office to help ease community frustration.
There is currently no walk-in service during normal business hours.
Residents with expired licenses — or with licenses that will be expiring within the next 30 days — will be able to make appointments online at the location.
However, appointments will not be available to those with licenses that won’t expire within the next month.
Additional appointments will be made between 7:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on March 19, April 2 and 30, and May 21.
