The Hawaiʻi Department of Health State Laboratories Division has detected 12 cases of the Omicron variant on Oʻahu.

State Epidemiologist Dr. Sarah Kemble said in a statement that most of those infected have no known connection with each other.

The health department is investigating four COVID-19 cases from patrons of the Scarlet Honolulu nightclub on Pauahi Street. Those who attended the club since Dec. 3 are advised to get tested for COVID-19.

DOH thanked management at Scarlet for their cooperation in their investigation. The nightclub will be partnering with Project Vision Hawaiʻi to administer booster shots Saturday, Dec. 11 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Earlier this week, the health department also advised those who attended a Christ Embassy Hawaiʻi event on or after Nov. 23 to get tested.

Information on free testing and vaccines is available at hawaiicovid19.com.
