Nearly 90% of State Employees Are Fully Vaccinated

The state of Hawaii reports that 88.8% of its employees are fully vaccinated.

That’s up from 85.6% on Aug. 16, when state government workers either had to show their vaccination status or submit to weekly testing.

The state Department of Human Resources Development reported that, as of Sept. 13, 2.6% of employees are partially vaccinated, and 8.6% are not vaccinated. 13,875 people are employed by the state.

DHRD reported all of its 112 employees have been fully vaccinated -- the only state department to do so.

The Department of Public Safety had the lowest vaccination rate at nearly 80%.
