Maui County's New Fire Chief Is Brad Ventura

MFD

The County of Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety has a new fire chief.

The Maui Fire and Public Safety Commission has selected Brad Ventura as the county’s new fire chief. He has been with the Maui Fire Department for 19 years.

He started as a firefighter in Kahului. In 2018, he was selected to serve as deputy fire chief.

He served as an instructor for many firefighting disciplines, including Hazardous Materials and Rescue Systems.

Ventura officially starts as fire chief on Oct. 1. He will be responsible for all personnel and activity under the Maui Fire Department.

Ventura will be replacing David Thyne, who retired after working with the Fire Department for nearly 34 years.
