Kal? Baybayan and Saki Uchida react after seeing land for the first time at sea.

Those are the sounds of crew members Kal? Baybayan and Saki Uchida. They're on board the voyaging canoe Hikianalia, as she and her sister canoe Hokule’a made landfall on the island of Rangiroa. HPR’s Molly Solomon spoke with Hokulea navigator Ka`iulani Murphy and has this Malama Honua update.

Hokule’a and Hikianalia will spend the night at Rangiroa before setting off for Papa’ete, Tahiti on Wednesday.
