Helping Hand - March 29, 2019 complete interview with Special Olympics Hawaii Polar Plunge 2019

This week on Helping Hand, it’s the return of Special Olympics Hawaii ahead of their 10th annual Polar Plunge Saturday April 6th in Honolulu. HPR All Things Considered Host Dave Lawrence speaks with their Director of Development, Tracey Bender, who explains the many way folks can support the organization and this chilly event where participants plunge down a 36-foot high, 95-foot long waterslide into a pool of ice cold water!

Helping Hand is a weekly feature on HPR1 stations each Friday during the PM broadcast of All Things Considered, and then archived in our online Helping Hand directory here. Each week on All Things Considered, we use Helping Hand to put the spotlight an organization, topic or event that offers assistance to people with disabilities and people and animals who are among the most vulnerable.
