Cats took center stage this summer at the Walker Art Center’s Internet Cat Video Festival in Minneapolis. Over 10,000 people turned up. It was such a success, organizers decided to take it on the road for a 20-city tour, with Honolulu being its first stop. HPR’s Molly Solomon has more.
The week-long Internet Cat Video Festival kicks off this Saturday, September 7, at the Honolulu Museum of Art’s Doris Duke Theatre. In addition to the films, festival activities include a Cat Costume Contest and a photo contest on Instagram. Guests can also show off their own kitty’s antics by uploading the cutest, wackiest or funniest videos to their Instagram account and tagging #catvidfestHI for a chance to win a basic museum membership. Check out the Honolulu Museum of Art website for a full list of events.
