We're speaking with musicians impacted by the pandemic and other crises in a new series called Off The Road. Right now a Hawaii resident is harnessing his musical talents and notoriety to help feed hungry people around the world, in particular, those facing food insecurity exacerbated by the pandemic. Carlos Santana and his wife, Cindy Blackman Santana, have recorded the John Lennon/Yoko One classic Imagine. Released through SongAid, every time anyone streams it, the proceeds get donated to WhyHunger, and that nonprofit's COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund. In a preview of an interview we’ll air in the next few weeks, Carlos told us about how he's been impacted by the virus and recent wave of protests, while staying at home here in the islands, on Kauai.

The new interview with Carlos and his wife Cindy Blackman Santana will air in the coming weeks on All Things Considered.
