William Shakespeare’s 458th Birthday Party. ‘If Music Be The Food Of Love, Play On!’ William Shakespeare Remembered! The Bard’s 458th Birthday Commemorated In Hanapepe at Storybook Theatre. The Birthday will be commemorated on two evenings—Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24—from 6:00 pm-8:30 pm. You are cordially invited to enjoy our distinguished troupe of troubadours, as we celebrate literacy, poetry, and resiliency in honor of Willam Shakespeare’s 458th birthday! In honor of the world’s most recognized playwright, Storybook Theatre and two companies of actors will present an evening of scenes and soliloquies from some of Shakespeare’s most famous plays. ’Much Ado About Nothing’ and ‘A Midsummer’s Nights Dream’ will be directed by Elysha Woolger of Kilauea, and a locally adapted version of ‘Twelfth Night or What You Will’ entitled ‘Twelf Nite O’ Whateva,’ adapted by James Grant Benton, will be directed by Storybook’s Mark Jeffers. Beginning with a selection of Scenes, Sonnets and Soliloquies in different town locations, the event will be followed by a VIP reception in Storybook’s Heritage Center. This year's event will also honor Matt Haider, helicopter mechanic from PMRF who perished in the crash on March 22nd. Matt volunteered at last year’s Shakespeare event.
