On Saturday, January 6, 2024, the Jazz Maui 2024 Maui Music Series presents award-winning trumpeter Gabriel M. Hasselbach along with pianist Jeff Hellmer, drummer Paul Marchetti, and bassist Dave Graber at the ProArts Playhouse, 1280 S. Kihei Road, in Kihei. Gabriel is a trumpeter, flugelhornist, and flautist, with a punchy yet lyrical style that plays across the jazz spectrum. He has 15 critically acclaimed albums under his name, 11 certified Contemporary Jazz Billboard hits, JUNO Awards, the West Coast Music Award, plus the 2011 Canadian Smooth Jazz ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Instrumentalist of the Year’ Awards. He has charted on mainstream and contemporary charts, and has performed at festivals all over the world. Originally from Colorado, Gabriel is coming to perform on Maui from his home base in Canada. His show will take the audience on a jazz journey between straight ahead and smooth jazz formats with a side trip to New Orleans.
