The García School vocal workshop will host a FREE public masterclass in Hilo on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 4:30pm at Christ Lutheran Church - Hilo, 595 Kapiolani Street. The masterclass, The Art of the Breath, is designed for classical and musical theater singers of all ages who wish to deepen their understanding of breath and its role in healthy, expressive singing. The class will be led by internationally acclaimed Metropolitan Opera Soprano and HIMF co-founder Amy Shoremount-Obra with Maika’i Nash at the piano. All musical theater performers, classical singers including choral singers, and anyone who has an interest in the process of singing and performing are invited and encouraged to attend.
