MORE INFO
After a long hiatus from LIVE performances, the Kamuela Philharmonic returns to Hawai‘i Island’s premier concert venue, Kahilu Theatre, to perform for our beloved audiences. A Dynamic Return exemplifies the notion of the world around us moving forward during these trying times. The repertoire for this concert selected by Maestro Dollinger demonstrates the idea of forward motion.
In this performance, Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides has many moments depicting the rolling waves of the seas while he journeyed to the Scottish island of Staffa. Movement in music happens in our imagination and how a composer writes a piece of music. The highly successful and popular Symphony No. 7 by Beethoven is a whirlwind of motion, moving the listener through each of its movements with an ongoing vitality of motion that compels you to yearn for what is to come next.
The Philharmonic will also present the Hawaiian premiere of Rhapsody for Violin and Strings by American composer David Stern, showcasing Concertmaster Ursula Vietze in this moving and emotional work.
