Jazz Maui presents Sunset Jazz on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 5-7pm at the Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate Factory, 78 Ulupono Street, Lahaina. Take a journey through the past with vocalist and bassist Katie Lady and her Most Excellent Fellows: Chris Beaty, guitar and vocals; Michael Guzalak, reeds; and, Nicolas Kern, percussion. The concert features music from the 1920s to the present, swinging and carefully selected. Singer, bassist and artist Katie Lady can be heard at various venues on island and in film scores and TV ads. Chris Beaty is a guitarist, singer and composer. Michael Guzalak plays saxophone, clarinet, harmonica, and hand percussion instruments. He has played in many different bands and styles over the years including jazz, gypsy jazz, rock, blues, Americana, swing, zydeco and salsa-meringue. Swiss-born percussionist and long-time Maui resident Nicolas Kern blends world, jazz, and electronic influences. Through NicoKola Productions, he also creates original songs and community-driven projects that celebrate rhythm and shared creativity.

Every Sunday chocolate and jazz lovers meet in the casual lounge atmosphere of the open-air upstairs pavilion at the Chocolate Factory to enjoy the sunset, great music, and chocolate/beverage pairings. During Sunset Jazz, chocolate sommeliers are on hand to assist with selections for purchase from a variety of award-winning chocolates and an extensive wine, spirits and beer list.

Maui Ku’ia Estate Chocolate, through its Chocolate Laulima program, supports local nonprofit organizations such as Arts Education for Children Group/Jazz Maui. Proceeds from concert ticket sales benefit Jazz Maui’s music education programs.

Jazz Maui, a branch of the 501(c)-3 nonprofit Arts Education for Children Group (www.aecg.org), provides opportunities for participation in high quality jazz music education and performances. Throughout the year Jazz Maui presents Sunset Jazz every Sunday and special concerts, clinics and classes held at various venues around the islands. Jazz Maui supports the Pau Hana Series at the Chocolate Factory every Friday in Lahaina.
