East Hawai‘i Master Gardeners 2026 Plant Sale &a ‘Ōhi‘a Love Festival
The East Hawai‘i Master Gardeners, in partnership with the ʻŌhiʻa Love campaign, will host the 2026 Plant Sale & ‘Ōhi‘a Love Festival on Sunday, January 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Komohana Research & Extension Center, located at 875 Komohana Street in Hilo. This popular annual event celebrates Hawai‘i’s unique plant life, sustainable gardening, and community education.
This year’s plant sale will feature natives, perennial edibles, University of Hawai‘i vegetable starts, ornamentals, vanilla and black pepper vines, hydroponic kits, seeds, fruit trees, and specialty crops from Hawai‘i’s tropical fruit growers and the Indigenous Cropping Lab. All items will be available on a cash-only basis.
More than 20 exhibitors and guest presenters will offer demonstrations, information booths, and hands-on learning opportunities. Featured participants include:

The event highlights community-driven education and the mission of the University of Hawai‘i Master Gardener Program to support resilient gardening practices across the islands. Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early, as inventory is first come, first served and subject to change throughout the day.
