Happy Chinese New Year in the year of the Tiger! Tonight we will present a fusion of Chinese and Western. Featuring Sun Hui and Pierre Grill's latest album "Can't help falling in Love," the concert will be joined by Bobby Ingano, Wade Cambern, and Li-Duen Clark. Sun Hui plays the Erhu, a two stringed instrument with a bow. She is the winner of Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award and won first place in the Taiwan National Erhu Competition. She started working on her latest album with Pierre during Covid, "Because I couldn't visit my family in Taiwan, I wanted to make some music for them so they can still feel my love. Most of songs were hit songs 40 years ago, when my parents dated each other." After earning a Ph.D., she continues to collaborate with a variety of contemporary composers & musicians from World, Western-classical, Chinese and other musical backgrounds. Pierre Grill is an island favorite and awarded recording engineer. He has helped lots of musicians to achieve their dreams as recording artists. Bobby Ingano is a sensational steel guitar player on three Grammy Award winning albums. Wade Cambern is the founding member of Hawaiian Style Band. Li-Duen Clark enjoys piano after her work as an OBGYN.
