SMALL TOWN * BIG ART is thrilled to announce our continued partnership with Wailuku Town's Will Smith Imua Discovery Garden for the second annual Butterfly Festival.

Free and open to the public, Imua's Butterfly Festival was launched in 2022 to help celebrate the unveiling of Wailuku Wings by sculptor Bobby Zokaites, which provides an interactive experience where young children can stand in front of the work and feel a sense of awe, empowerment and play as the moment is captured for an ongoing photo project.

This year, we will introduce Glow in the Garden as a new feature of the Butterfly Festival. By April 14, 2023 via CaFÉ application, artists of all ages are invited to submit pre-fabricated work for juror consideration to be on view for this one-night-only event, which will take place on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

Light has the power to transform, inspire, and uplift in remarkable ways!

Artwork should integrate a lighting component and play with the perception of light, which can challenge viewers with what they see and understand from each piece. The selected works will be exhibited throughout the 6 acre-property, transforming the Garden with light and color for this FREE, community event.
