Aloha ʻĀina, Love of the Land Art Show at Firehouse Gallery in Kamuela
The Waimea Arts Council presents Aloha ʻĀina, Love of the Land Art Show at the Firehouse Gallery in Kamuela. The show runs from September 2 – 25, 2022 in conjunction with the 2022 island-wide Aloha Festival.
The show features original artwork, fine art photographs, sculpture, glasswork and other interpretations of love of the land.
A reception will be held on Saturday, September 10 from 12-3. Please come and enjoy refreshments and mingling with artists and friends.
“We hope people will be inspired by this beautiful art show and leave with a greater appreciation of our ‘āina and this special place we live,” says Waimea Arts Council President Kathy Sprinkle.
The Aloha Festival’s theme for 2022 is described as: “The foundation of Aloha ʻĀina is a reverence for the ʻāina (land) as venerated ancestor. Subsequently, we collectively have kuleana (a responsibility) to care for the land from whom we receive nourishment. ʻĀina literally means ‘that which feeds,’ or ‘that which provides sustenance,’ and includes all of nature.
