  In the 1950’s, a gutsy band of locals, barely off the plantations, got it into their heads to become artists.  They migrated to New York City to live the life, then returned, to create Hawai‘i’s first contemporary art scene.  HPR’sNoeTanigawa reports on a show that samples their work at KCC’sKoa Gallery.
