This Sunday, music, chant, theatre, food, and free tours of ‘Iolani Palace are planned for the 175th birthday celebration of Hawai’i’s Queen Lili’uokalani. Recent historical research is shedding new light on events of her reign. HPR’sNoeTanigawa reports.
"Onipa’a 2013", the 175th birtrhday celebration for Queen Lili’uokalani, begins at 10am this Sunday at ‘Iolani Palace. In the Mai Poina walking tour, actors will recreate fascinating moments in history at the sites where they occurred, reservations recommended. All events are free and open to the public.
