Mary Chapin Carpenter: A Thanksgiving Special

In the world of country and folk music, Mary Chapin Carpenter is regarded as one of the most prolific songwriters today. When she's not touring, Carpenter is at her white farmhouse at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains -- a quiet place that she and her husband, Tim Smith, call Elysium.

For an All Things Considered Thanksgiving Day special, NPR's Michele Norris visits Carpenter's home, where the singer and her longtime collaborators John Jennings and Jon Carroll perform songs from her latest album, Between Here and Gone.
