Hawaiʻi Green Growth marked its 10th anniversary last week. The greenhouse gas reduction benchmarks going into the United Nations climate talks had a familiar feel for CEO Celeste Connors.

She previously worked as director for climate change and environment for the National Security Council at the White House, and has served as a diplomat for almost 12 years. She shared what Hawaiʻi’s role as an island economy should be as the world develops tools to combat climate change.

This interview aired on The Conversation on Nov. 5, 2021.
