Head of Blue Planet Foundation reflects on 13 years of striving for clean energy

Jeff Mikulina is stepping down as executive director of the Blue Planet Foundation after 13 years.

Jeff Mikulina steps down as head of the Blue Planet Foundation on Friday. Looking back over the past 13 years, he says Hawaiʻi has made great strides toward a magical-thinking future in green energy — and sets a model for other communities.

Mikulina said he doesn’t have a job lined up but plans to take a break and spend time with family. Taking over the reins at Blue Planet Foundation is Melissa Miyashiro, the current managing director of strategy and policy.
